Atheists outdo some believers in survey about religion | New York Times:
Not about minimalism but about something I cannot handle: irrational religion, or the blind belief without questions. It’s stupidity.
Researchers from the independent Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life phoned more than 3,400 Americans and asked them 32 questions about the Bible, Christianity and other world religions, famous religious figures and the constitutional principles governing religion in public life…
Those who scored the highest were atheists and agnostics, as well as two religious minorities: Jews and Mormons.
“I have heard many times that atheists know more about religion than religious people,” Mr. Silverman said. “Atheism is an effect of that knowledge, not a lack of knowledge. I gave a Bible to my daughter. That’s how you make atheists.”It does not surprise me.

For editing text on iPad & iPhone. PlainText is a simple text editor with a paper-like user interface. Unlike the default Notes app, PlainText allows you to create and organize your documents in folders and sync everything with Dropbox.
It works with TextExpander, and handled the ~600 hundreds of notes in my Notational Velocity folder without flinching.
It has one major flaw, though: no search. If Jesse adds that in a future update, I can safely say that PlainText will be the only writing app I’ll need on the iPad.

- Stripes
French-based “abstract minimalist” Daniel Buren is well known for his trademark use of stripes, sized consistently at 8.7cm wide. His fascination with the motif has been materialised in the form of paintings, site specific installations and unauthorised public artworks, using striped awning canvases in France, and posting striped posters around Paris including various metro stations. He is perhaps best known for his black and white striped columns installed in a 3000 square metre area outside of the Palais Royal in Paris in 1986, called Les Deux Plateaux and nicknamed Colonnes de Buren.
Sometimes called a conceptual artist for his dealings with space and the gallery setting, Buren blocked the entrance to his first solo exhibition with one of his striped works. Of the Guggenheim Museum, where Buren has exhibited before, he says “[it] really kills a piece of art, primarily because it’s a work of art itself.”

Today I was walking the baby when i saw a sign that stroke me as pure genius. Right there in front of me in white background with black bold letters was a sign that simply said: cake.
All the sudden I felt this urge to have cake…
Simple. Fantastic. It works.

Sorry for that. It’s the second time this happens in 10 days. I guess the only person doing a good technical job was Marco and now that he left Tumblr it starting to have technical difficulties
